Architecturae Compositio

The pictures of VirginieCaquot give a theatrical impression when moments of everyday life seem to be staged. Several periods and types of architecture rub shoulders in her work that testifies of an historical, political and economic context peculiar to Albania.

The artist offers us a crossed look between the spiritual and the commercial, between the past and the present. She highlights the graphic qualities of the architectures photographed by arranging various urbanistic elements, that gives to its photographs a strong aestheticism where the architecture appears from a new angle.

VIRGINIE CAQUOT is an independent French photographer from city of Lille.

Graduated in Humanities (History-Geography and Social Development) from the University of Lille; she first worked as a teacher before moving in 2012 to photography.

After three years in Brazil (2012 – 2015), she currently lives and works in Tirana.
